Meet Joy

Joy Thomas is the Racial Justice Engagement Enabler at Wellsprings Together, bringing a wealth of experience in chartered management, equality and impact leadership, training delivery, community engagement and partnership building across public, voluntary and community sectors.

Throughout her career, Joy has been deeply committed to supporting those who are less fortunate, volunteering within local communities, advocating for people experiencing homelessness, exclusion or discrimination to name a few and being a strong, trusted voice for those who are often marginalised or unheard. Her work is rooted in a passion for equality, inclusion and empowering diverse leadership.

One of Joy’s guiding scriptures is 1 Corinthians 11:1 – “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ”, which shapes her approach to leadership, service and justice.

Wellsprings Together partners with the Diocese of Leeds to support the community engagement commitments of From Lament to Action. Together, we work to move beyond reflection into meaningful action by building trusting, equitable relationships with Global Majority Heritage (GMH) and UK Minority Ethnic (UKME) communities.

Through this partnership, we support churches, schools and communities to strengthen diverse leadership, practise accountable anti-racism, resource community-led ministry, foster learning and communication, and rebuild trust through honest and respectful collaboration.

This vision is carried forward by Joy, who inspires, equips and walks alongside churches and communities as they shape lasting, faithful change, nurturing spaces that are inclusive, just and truly reflective of all God’s people.

If you’re seeking guidance, partnership or support in fulfilling your From Lament to Action commitments, we would be delighted to journey with you.
